The most powerful form of political activism is Prayer!<\/p>\n
It is our duty as believers to vote and to communicate with those we select to make the daily decisions needed to run this great country.\u00a0 Political involvement is necessary and good.<\/p>\n
But the greater authority, the greater power, lies in our prayers.<\/p>\n
I\u2019m asking you to commit to pray for our country and its leaders.\u00a0 Every Day!<\/b><\/p>\n
Here is what you can do:\u00a0 Pick some hour on the clock that you are likely to see twice each day, like 7 or 8 and commit to pray for 5 minutes \u2013 5 minutes for our country and its leaders at the top of one of those hours.\u00a0 The hour is not important; five minutes of prayer is. \u00a0You can be flexible; you have two choices each day. \u00a0You can change the time on the fly, but please pray. 1 Timothy 2:8 <\/i><\/b>I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.<\/i><\/p>\n
Each time you hear something upsetting, frustrating or maddening on the news, turn that passion to prayer.\u00a0 Pray about that issue and those who are making that decision. Fifteen or 30 seconds of earnest prayer can touch the heart of God.<\/p>\n
Pray humbly; remember, you do not know everything.\u00a0 You do not know all the pressures our representatives may be feeling. Pray for courage and wisdom!<\/p>\n
Pray for decisions that honor God and promote righteousness.<\/p>\n
Pray for other believers and ask God to stir their hearts to pray.<\/p>\n
