Oh, that\u2019s right, it is the same actor.\u00a0 <\/span>Yes, I\u2019m talking about the current movie, Noah<\/i>. I haven\u2019t seen it and probably won\u2019t.\u00a0 <\/span>I don\u2019t see many movies, and there is nothing about this one to motivate me out of my normal lethargy.\u00a0 <\/span>Rather, there is much to make me forgo it even if I were a movie goer. Here\u2019s a short list:\u00a0 <\/span>It is reported the director is an atheist; I already know the story and believe the one I read in the Bible; I don\u2019t want to reward their degradation of scripture with my money.\u00a0 <\/span>To sum up, it doesn\u2019t appeal to me.\u00a0 <\/span>If you want to go, have at it! Just don\u2019t look to it for theology or for some insight into the world, God or man, unless it is man\u2019s depravity.\u00a0 <\/span>That may be what the movie is all about!<\/p>\n The Bible tells us that man lives in rebellion against God, that man\u2019s tendency is toward evil and self-serving behavior.\u00a0 <\/span>It also tells us that man needs a savior.\u00a0 <\/span>You cannot be a Christian and believe other than the above.\u00a0 <\/span>You can call yourself whatever you want, but you cannot \u201cbe\u201d anything other than what you are.<\/p>\n Some believers have been upset that the movie does not accurately portray the events and teachings of the Bible.\u00a0 <\/span>I can understand that.\u00a0 <\/span>Others have responded with a visceral contempt for anyone who criticizes.\u00a0 <\/span>They remind us that it is only a movie; that it is supposed to make money, not converts; and that critics are both petty and overbearing by trying to sway the public from seeing it.\u00a0 <\/span>I think the rabid response of the movie\u2019s defenders betrays their motive.\u00a0 <\/span>They really know the movie is about ideology, even theology.\u00a0 <\/span>It represents some segment of their worldview, and it must be protected.
