{"id":39,"date":"2010-01-24T00:11:25","date_gmt":"2010-01-24T04:11:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pastorsblog.lakeviewhamilton.com\/?p=39"},"modified":"2010-01-24T00:11:25","modified_gmt":"2010-01-24T04:11:25","slug":"acog-and-bach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pastorsblog.lakeviewhamilton.com\/?p=39","title":{"rendered":"ACOG and Bach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Trijicon people, makers of the ACOG sights our troops use, have found themselves in trouble because they added Bible references to the serial numbers of their scopes.\u00a0 The references are the same size as the serial numbers; and unless you\u2019re familiar with Bible reference abbreviations, you probably wouldn\u2019t even notice the cryptic notation, hardly an in-your-face testimony and too obscure to be of any value for proselytizing.<\/p>\n<p>Why the fuss?\u00a0 Good question.\u00a0 Some folks are irritated at anything Christian, so the reference becomes a target of their illogical and anti-freedom wrath.\u00a0 I\u2019ll talk about anti-freedom more in a minute.<\/p>\n<p>Some have said that when the mostly Moslem enemies we are engaging learn of this (which they have no-doubt done from the press it\u2019s gotten), they will have proof we are engaged in a holy-war against them.\u00a0 These geniuses have forgotten that it is our enemies that shout \u201cAllah Akbar\u201d when they attack.\u00a0 It is these extremists whose motive is to destroy Christianity and Judaism.\u00a0 We fight them because they have attacked us.<\/p>\n<p>From a spiritual perspective, a committed disciple of Jesus should give honor to God for his success and thanks for all blessings.\u00a0 The developers of the unique light-gathering ACOG added verses to their product that honored Jesus as the Light.\u00a0 They were doing no more than glorifying God for their ability to harness light for the aiming system in their product, a product they developed and manufactured that was useable by our military.\u00a0 I understand that a customer can make demands on the seller for what he needs before he buys the product.\u00a0 The interesting thing here is that the verses have been there for years.\u00a0 Someone must have gotten their feelings hurt and whined about it to someone who believes that people only whine when they are right.<\/p>\n<p>In recent times these folks would have been highly regarded for glorifying Christ in their business.\u00a0 In today\u2019s anti-Christian American culture, they will bow to pressure and remove the verses from sights sold to the military.\u00a0 Those sights are expensive;
